In early July, Eitan and some friends were attacked while cultivating land in Samaria, in an area known as Dorot Illit. On private, Jewish-owned land, registered by deed in the land registry. Eitan and his friends, three of whom are minors, were cultivating the land under license and a contract.
A crown of Arabs from a nearby village suddenly appeared and blocked the only access road available to the Jewish farmers, as the muezzin’s cry from the village mosque incited them to “halt the robbery of land.”
Eitan and his friends found themselves under siege. After attempting to enter into dialogue with them, Eitan was left with no choice but to fire in order to deter the marauders, injuring one of them. The event continued, with rocks and a pitchfork, just inches from the head of one of the farmers. Only after they managed to escape did the farmers encounter a group of soldiers who had been alerted to the situation. The farmers emerged from the incident with bleeding head injuries.
However, it was not the Arab attackers who were detained by the police for questioning, but Eitan and his friends, who had been forced to defend themselves. They were detained and interrogated and their personal weapons were taken from them. The State Attorney has decided to indict Eitan Ze’ev under the section “Aggravated assault under severe circumstances,” a section of the law that could send Eitan to jail for many years. This is just the beginning of Eitan Ze’ev’s legal battles because he may face civil lawsuits down the road.

The eyes of hundreds of farmers are on Eitan Ze’ev right now, but no less so, on us. The Israeli public. A farmer who defended his life and the lives of his friends must not be allowed to go to prison. If Eitan goes to prison, it will be a serious blow to the morale of Jewish farmers throughout the Galilee, Judea and Samaria and the Negev. The Arabs who attacked, and others who lurk awaiting prey every day, must not be allowed to see the Israeli public abandon its pioneers.
The Israeli public must prove that it does not abandon its farmers on the front lines.
It must show that it fully supports anyone who defends his life.

We will provide Eitan’s family with a safety net. We will show them that Eitan does not stand alone – and we will do so not only with words but with actions.
-
Join us. Lend a hand. Help provide the financial support that will make it possible for Eitan to continue to fight for a normal life for himself and his family. Let’s prove that the people of Israel does not abandon its farmers and pioneers on the front lines.
Because in the end, we’re all Eitan Ze’ev.

Eitan Ze'ev was alone in the field, cultivating the land of Eretz Israel when marauders surrounded him on all sides. As a last resort, Ethan fired his gun. He’s now on trial – only because he defended his own life and the lives of his friends.

We are embarking on crowdfunding campaign to help Eitan fight his legal battle, and to prove that the people of Israel don’t leave anyone behind.

We all support Ethan Ze’ev.
