More than once we have heard of scams in which crooks have deceived honest people.
Cases that cause the economic and marital collapse of the family, a sad story, but it usually passes us by.
This time, unfortunately, it is the case of neighbors and close friends of us all.
A completely normative family, belonging to the Efrat community. Eight people - a couple and six children.
The father of the family is a hardworking family man. From early morning until dark, he has been an employee devoted to his workplace for years.
All this was until, in his innocence and in his sincerity, he signed a guarantee for his former employer amounting to huge sums.
Thus one fine day the Marciano family found themselves dealing with debts of hundreds of thousands of shekels. Debts that will never be able to be paid.
The family now has a debt of about NIS 500,000, which is inflating every month.
The father's salaries have been forfeited for several months, and they are unable to bring a piece of bread to their children. The family's basic existence comes from charity, from kind members of the community and from friends.
And as if all this were not enough, the corona year and the employment problems that accompanied it, was the last nail in the coffin of the sanity of the family's parents, Avi and Miri.
Now, Avi and Miri and the whole family are trying unsuccessfully to deal with an almost impossible economic disaster.
We are talking about a couple of dedicated friends who continue to work hard around the clock despite everything, and are experiencing financial, mental and health difficulties.
In light of the situation, and for the sake of the family dear to our hearts and the hearts of the community, we, some friends, enlisted the help of the “Keren Chasdei Efrat,” which examined the details of the case and accompanied it from day one. We also received the blessing of Rabbi Meir Alfasi Shlita, the rabbi of the Edot Hamizrach communities of Gush Etzion and Efrat.
In addition, with the help of recruited professionals, we were able to reduce the original debt from NIS 500,000 to NIS 200,000.
