We, friends of Matan from the Tinoshmet mobility unit, have been serving in Gaza for the past hundred days shoulder to shoulder with Matan. We were all released this week with mixed feelings.
While most of us have returned home and are beginning to adapt to our daily routines, Matan must begin another struggle, a struggle for life. After his wife suffered two bouts of cancer, they now must head to the United States to undergo a medical procedure that will allow them to have a child.
The cost of the procedure, including flights and stay, is 300,000 NIS.
