Writing a Sefer Torah
in Memory of
Rabbi Yisrael Shalom Yosef and Tzipora Friedman
Ben Shalom
To my dear friends and loved ones, I invite you to be partners in the writing of a small Torah scroll, as is the custom in the house of Rozin, in memory of my beloved parents, my father and teacher the Admor Rabbi Yisrael Shalom Yosef and my mother and teacher Zipporah who both taught the pathway of Chassidut and true love for the Land of Israel.
Rabbi Yisrael and Tzipora were born between the two World Wars in the courts of Bohos and Vizhnitz. After the Holocaust they immigrated to Israel, helping to build the Land through both settlement and spiritual endeavors. They were among the founders of Kibbutz Reshafim, later members of Kibbutz Sa'ad in the Negev and finally in Beit Yisrael in Jerusalem.
In their spirit, the educational institutions of their children and students were established throughout the country. Through their aliyah to and helping with building up the Land of Israel, the light of the Baal Shem Tov and the Maggid were built within the Land in parallel and as a result of their actions.
imilarly to the verse: “No One Will Be Banished," which means to be in love and devotion for every person and every Jew regardless of their opinions and affiliation - they spread light and love, truth, Torah, and Chassidut for all. They fostered connections and reconciliation by creating many students who were like their children - unified with the awesome goal of creating an exemplary society, a kingdom of priests, whose holy focus it is to repair the World in the Kingdom of God.
