The organization “Beyadenu for the Temple Mount” was founded in 2013 by Yehuda Glick, Aharon Pulver and Yaakov Heyman as the “Temple Mount and Temple Heritage Foundation”, with the goal of connecting the people of Israel to the Temple Mount and to change the current situation, to correct the discrimination and to return the Temple Mount to the entire people of Israel.

In 2014, Tom Nissani founded the “Students for the Temple Mount” movement together with students from Hebrew University who ascended the Temple Mount and noticed the harsh reality, and in 2021 we merged into one large organization whose executive director is Tom Nissani, the founder of “Students for the Temple Mount.”

Guiding thousands of ascenders each year:
our flagship project is our guiding project, for over 7 years our guides have been on the Temple Mount every day, in the summer and winter, guiding those who ascend and maintaining the Jewish presence on the Temple Mount through difficult conditions. Thousands of Jews have already ascended the Temple Mount with the close support of our guides.

We set a goal to improve the education system: we entered the Ministry of Education and began a revolution regarding the connection of the next generation to the Temple Mount, from the beginning of 5772 only, we gave lectures and tours on the Temple Mount to about 500 (high school) students of yeshivas and ulpanas, 300 school children, and another 500 army preparatory programs! We began a process in the Knesset and the Ministry of Education to integrate the Temple Mount into textbooks, and for children to tour the Temple Mount on a regular basis. The process is in full swing.

Legal protection of ascenders: our legal activity has completely changed the rules of the game on the Temple Mount: until a few years ago, Jews were held up at police stations for many hours for mumbling on the Temple Mount. Today we have reached a situation where there is almost no criminal enforcement against ascenders to the Temple Mount.

We also made a breakthrough regarding legal distancing from the Mount: Today there is no longer legal distancing without a warrant! Our legal team has worked toward the current situation, where there is no distancing without a signed and open order from the Jerusalem Distract Commander, something that can be attacked in court. Before we came into the picture, dozens were distanced from the Temple Mount at any given moment without any legal order, and without a due process hearing. We continue to provide ongoing legal assistance to any person who ascends.

We are proud of those who wave the flag: We provided legal accompaniment to those who wave flags on the Temple Mount, and none of them were legally distanced, on Independence Day and Jerusalem Day dozens of flags were waved and no one was detained or distanced from the Temple Mount. We will continue in this way until the Israeli flag becomes an integral part of the landscape of the Temple Mount, and the Israeli flag is proudly raised on the Mount by the authorities themselves.

The singing of “Hatikvah” became a fact:
After Ofir Dayan (head of the parliamentary team) was prevented from entering the Temple Mount due to singing “Hatikvah” in June 2021, Ofir Dayan returned to the Temple Mount and ascended without restrictions and even sang “Hatikvah” out loud on the Mount without any intrusion, after being closely accompanied by our lawyers. Since then, we sing “Hatikvah” during every ascent to the Mount.

Guarding the Temple Mount: We made sure to erase graffiti on the Temple Mount (which was on a number of occasions) and opened a hotline for reports from the Temple Mount. Inscriptions glorifying the terrorist Fadi Abu-Shahudam were also removed.

Saving our heritage: last Passover we all discovered the severe damage to the antiquities on the east side of the Temple Mount. We published an expansive media report and initiated a petition through email and submitted thousands of inquiries to the Antiquities Authority, following which many connections were made, including with Knesset members, the Minister of Culture and the Executive Director of the Antiquities Authority, and with their help we were able to work towards the preservation of antiquities on the Temple Mount. The process has just begun and currently we are dealing with ongoing documentation, publishing reports and advocating for saving the antiquities.

Non-stop work in the Knesset: our parliamentary team is changing policy on the Temple Mount - some of their achievements: the education committee of the Knesset unanimously agreed to and adopted the conclusions of our position paper and decided that the Temple Mount should be a mandatory site to visit and mandatory material to teach in schools.

We initiated cooperation with MK Meirav Ben-Ari, head of the Internal Security committee, and held periodic discussions in the committee regarding the situation at the Temple Mount. We succeeded in correcting and bringing about the cancellation of a half hour that Jews would have been robbed of during their ascent to the Temple Mount during the summer season.

We proved that public pressure on decision makers - succeeds in accomplishing the agenda! The Temple Mount was opened to Jews on the last Independence Day despite the Ra”am party’s threats on the government. Thanks to the public campaign we led, we proved that the Temple Mount is a red line.

After our targeted pressure, the PLO flag was removed from the Dome of the Rock during the last Ramadan after it was raised there for several days without a response from the police.

Legislation: we introduced an amendment to the Holy Places Law for the Temple Mount to be included (along with the Temple of the Patriarchs) together with MK Mai Golan and we also promoted an amendment to the penal code with the goal of increasing punishment for Muslim agitators on the Temple Mount, together with MK Orit Sitruk.

Spreading information and changing the media coverage: we produced dozens of spectacular informatiol videos in Hebrew and English with the help of our content team and we integrated the Temple Mount into the mainstream media discourse hundreds of times throughout the year!
