Staff Sergeant (res.)
Neriah Moshe Cohen, of blessed memory, 26 years old from Givat Shmuel,
was on his way back to reserve duty in Gaza – after being called up under Order 8 while in the USA when the war broke out and serving for more than 200 consecutive days.

Neriah served as a combat medic in Battalion 17 ("Lions of the Golan") of the Bislamach (Squad Commanders' and Infantry Professions School) Brigade, and as a civilian was a third-year medical student.

He studied at the Hesder Yeshiva in Kiryat Shmona, was a dedicated volunteer for Magen David Adom, the "Ezer Mitzion" organization, and many other community volunteer activities, and was a beloved student and counselor in the "Ezra" youth movement.

Young people from the "Ezra" branch in Givat Shmuel where he grew up, along with his family members, are writing a Torah scroll in his memory – a commemoration that reflects Neriah's character – a figure of Torah with Derech Eretz (proper conduct).

Join us in writing the scroll in memory of Neriah's soul 🕯️
