Eitan | Commemorating Yakir Levi (of blessed memory)

Establishing an Overlook, Memorial Room, and Residential Complex in Memory of Yakir Levi

Yakir Levi (may his memory be a blessing), a graduate of the 11th class of Eitan Pre-Military Academy, was a cheerful and humble young man, who loved life and had strong faith. “Don’t forget to smile” – this is what he told a friend seeking his advice about military service, a phrase that encapsulates his unique personality and approach to life.
Yakir grew up in a large and loving family in Netanya and the town of Moreshet in the Lower Galilee. He was always surrounded by friends and family, loved sports, supported Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague, and cherished the land of Israel. As a soldier and squad leader in the 13th Battalion of the Golani Brigade, he was a symbol of leadership, courage, and boundless giving.
On October 7, Yakir heroically fought at the Pega-Magen Be’eri post. He saved wounded comrades, led soldiers to safety, and repeatedly returned to combat the terrorists. His bravery and dedication saved many lives, but he himself fell as a hero.
In honor of his life and deeds, a lookout point will be established in Yakir's memory – a place overlooking the landscapes of the land he loved so deeply, symbolizing a vision toward the future. Additionally, a memorial room will be created to preserve the story of his life, values, and unique path.
As part of this project, a residential complex for the academy’s students will also be built – a space that will enable the younger generation to grow, learn, and be educated in the values of leadership, giving, and love for the land, just as Yakir exemplified.
Join us in this commemorative initiative – let us create together an educational and experiential space that will continue Yakir’s legacy, keep his memory alive in our hearts, and inspire future generations.
“Don’t forget to smile” – Yakir’s legacy will continue to illuminate our paths.
